Well, I will be stepping down as soon as all the club status stuff is in the bag. I just didnt want to leave with things only halfway done. I figure that we should probably have everything sorted out before the spring semester starts so there would be an excellent time for a change over. And speaking of this, we really need to start doing regular election stuff again. This unorganized stuff really should not fly is we are going to be a uni club.

Write something up and call a vote. The council as a whole decided to not have regular elections, simply because no one fucking cares enough to run. Most people barely even vote.

I fail to see why elections can't proceed the way they have been. Most of the time the council positions don't really affect much of what happens in the realm anyway. Whether one person or another is not a big concern to most people since they still get to hit people with foam sticks regardless.

If a change is going to be made I think that we should simply protect people's position for the period of one year such that if a person contested for an office and won they would be safe from being removed for one year. Exceptions would include gross negligence of duties and voluntary abdication.

This is how it works, since we don't have an up to date charter anywhere online.

Once you get a council position, you are secure in this position for a period of six months. Barring things like gross negligence and voluntary forfit of the position (like Rowan mentioned), you cannot lose the position until six months after you were given it. After this point, and at any point in time, another citizen of NB may challenge you for this position. If you want to hold on to it, there's a vote. Pretty simple.

If we try to have elections on a timed schedule, then no one cares enough to run or even vote. Discounting the most recent election, we'd have like 6 or 7 people vote if anyone even ran, which is why we switched.

has bodhi been in "office" for 6 months? cuz i still want to challenge it. in fact, i am already planning on a liason mission to places located on the other side of the mississippi in mid december.

my plan is to make a more outgoing image for NB, but at the same time, not look like total douches. on one hand, i will be making connections with other realms. on the other, i will be patrolling our awesome realm to keep the douche levels to a minimum. beware, all ye who attempt to poison and destroy my brothas, cuz i'll call it how i see it.

Don't even worry about contesting it, Troll. Unless someone else wants to run (HA!), we're not even going to have a vote once the club stuff gets done.

What if I don't want the job, but I want troll to not have it. Do I have to find some willing puppet who will fill the role in a figurehead position or can I just run a smear campaign against troll while having no canidate of my own?
