Post Re: Changes to the council
I wrote a long post but it came across as to angry.

We have been doing things despite not going to practice, like getting stuff ready for mel. If you would prefer to take that over, that would be great, you are at practice more and have more open time than I do. I also don't know how much I am going to be at mel because of the dali lama stuff in town and the presentation I have to give to professors for it. I was still planning on being there as much as I could and doing feast and as much troll time as I could, but if you prefer someone else doing it that is just fine.

Well Gorlock, it looks like you took offense to what I said. Everyone knows how busy you are with various things, and eyrtk also has a legitimate reason for not being around. My post was more aimed at Jesus for quitting without actually telling anybody. I was trying not to point fingers, and I figured that both you and eyrtk would realize that. You had both made it clear enough why you weren't involved that much any more.

As far as Melcorme goes, I'm not sure if that is the top priority for the realm. I mean, it is nice to have an event, but it won't be much of an event if there isn't a realm to host it, now will it?

All the work that you do for Melcorme is very well appreciated, but it really doesn't do a whole lot towards keeping the realm alive. Before you start going on about how much stuff you are doing for the realm, I think it needs to be brought up that there is a difference between doing something for the event, and doing something for the realm. NB can survive without Melcorme. I'm not entirely certain that the opposite will be true.

Post Re: Changes to the council
I did take offense because you were saying that those of us who don't go to practice at the moment don't care about the realm, and that isn't the case.

You are right that mel doesn't help with recruitment, but it does make sure we can afford to make weapons for new people to use. You are right though, the only thing the realm can't live without is people.

(what is about the be said will be offensive, it is not meant that way but rather as information for those trying to recruit)

We have a huge problem with retention of new members, as well as some not so new members. I don't know if you (not just troll but anyone else) have talked with any of the recruits that have stopped come or not but I have (I see then on campus occasionally). I asked some of them why they stopped coming, and most of them said they were scared of getting hurt (the ones that said it was a lot of fun, and didn't say they just say they didn't have time). I asked them if it was because of what happened with jesus (even the ones that stopped before he got hurt at practice), and they said no. They said it was because of troll and ben (not always names but a lot of descriptions). When you guys decide that someone isn't taking their hits you go after them, and beat them until they do, that is not the way to build numbers. I'm not saying that i am innocent of that, i know I tried to beat ronin out because of hit taking for a long time.

We started this year off having over 40 people at practice, and that kept up for a month, then people started to get beaten out, the problem was that at least one person from each friend group was beaten out, and they took their fiends with them. I'm sorry that there are under 10 people are practice now, but as a group we need to learn to play nice, and if we can't then the realm will shrink back down to the core, which is getting busier all the time. Also it should be noted that this has happened at least 3 times in the realm since I started fighting, it is a pattern where folks think we can try to cut the perceived cheaters, or those not learning fast enough, from the realm because we have numbers, this is not the case.

Ben- most of the stuff that needs done will be at the event, standard hearlding, troll work, weapons check, and making sure people aren't walking around with bottles at the boy scout camp. If you want to make some signs with arrows to point the way starting once people are off the highway that would be great. We will also need folks to help with feast, I am planning on running it still if that cool with everyone.

I agree with Bodmin, but I have to admit I get really nervous about Mel because one of the issues, too, is bringing outside drama onto the field. It would totally suck if all this B.S. ended up at Mel. I think the main thing here is that everyone is kinda saying there should just be more communication all the way around. Trying to get things going for Mel and figuring out what needs to be done and who's able/willing to do it should be the primary focus right now. That's the biggest thing going on in the realm. THEN we can get everything situated with the council if they're not already. It's all good, People :D  No need to get our panties in a bunch!
